01Is it a gimmick?
Nah. Your phone can already lock apps. What it can't do is keep the key away from you. Pause Device is that key, and it stays in another room.
02How is this different from Screen Time or Digital Wellbeing?
Those limits come with a skip button. Tap “Ignore for today” and you're back in. With Pause, getting back in means getting up, walking to the device and tapping your phone on it. That walk is the point.
03Can't I just delete the apps?
Sure. Will you reinstall them by Thursday? Probably. Pause doesn't delete anything. It locks the apps, and only the tap opens them again.
04Can't I just delete Pause?
You could. Pause doesn't lock you out of your own phone. It puts ten seconds and a short walk between you and the habit, and that is usually enough.
05What if I really need Instagram right now?
Walk to the device and tap. That's about ten seconds, which is usually enough to ask yourself if you really need it. You choose which apps get blocked, so leave out anything you might need in a hurry.
06Will calls, WhatsApp and UPI still work?
Yes. You pick which apps get paused. Calls, messages, UPI and Maps stay open unless you choose them.
07Does it need charging?
No. There's no battery inside. Put it down and forget about it.
08Which phones does it work with?
Android 12 or newer, and iPhones on iOS 17 or newer.
09Can my whole family use one?
Each Pause Device links to one Pause account. For a family, get one for each person.

11How does the pre-order price work?
Pre-orders run for 60 days from Monday 12 October. On day one the Pause Device is 60% off its ₹1,999 price, so ₹800. Every day the discount drops by 1%, until the full ₹1,999 from 11 December. You pay the price shown on the day you order. All pre-orders ship in January 2027, and you can cancel for a full refund any time before yours ships.
